This performance took place during the course of the interactive installation framadi heimavöllur in Fall 2010. Occurring on a field of sugar, Aimee creates sculptural works of melted sugar, pointing to both the aesthetic temptation as well as the political loadedness that luxurious items such as sugar and coffee hold within globalized trading relationships that tend to disempower specific groups that are involved in the underpaid production of, for example, sugar and coffee.
